Creating objects in Atlas allows you to organize and manage data, assets, or entities relevant to your workflows. This article guides you through the step-by-step process to create a new object, customize its properties, and verify its creation successfully.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Log In to Atlas
- Open your web browser and go to the Atlas login page:
https://your-atlas-url.com/login - Enter your username/email and password.
- Click Sign In.
2. Navigate to the Object Module
- On the main menu or dashboard, locate the Objects section.
- Click Objects to open the list of existing objects.
3. Start Creating a New Object
- Look for the Create New Object button, usually at the top right corner of the objects list page.
- Click it to open the new object creation form.
4. Fill in Object Basic Details
- Name: Enter a clear, descriptive name for the object.
- Type: Select the object type from the dropdown menu (e.g., User, Device, Project).
- Description: Optional but recommended — write a short description of the object’s purpose.
5. Configure Object Properties
- Depending on the object type, fill in additional custom fields or attributes.
- Example properties may include:
- Tags or labels for categorization
- Status or state (active, inactive)
- Dates (creation date, expiry date)
- Relationships to other objects (parent-child, linked objects)
6. Set Permissions and Access (If Available)

7. Save and Create the Object
- Review all entered information for accuracy.
- Click the Save or Create button at the bottom of the form.
8. Verify Object Creation
- After saving, you will be redirected back to the object list or detail page.
- Find the newly created object in the list and confirm all details display correctly.
- Optionally, open the object’s detail view and check all properties.
